Altre news sul prossimo villain di Uncharted 3
Naughty Dog today revealed the main villain to Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Katherine Marlowe. In the comments section of the Playstation.Blog, Community Strategist Arne Meyer provided a few additional details on the latest unveiling in addition to several related subjects.
While acknowledging that Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is still early in development, one fan commented that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves looks better than the new footage from the sequel. Arne Meyer responded to that sentiment with the following statement:
You said it right at the start – given how far out we’re from completing development on Uncharted 3, it’s actually looking better than Uncharted 2 did at about the same length out. There’s a really great example comparing Schaffer from an early trailer to the final version that shows how far we can get given a few months.
As to rather the new footage was pre-recorded or done in real-time, Arne Meyer responded with the following:
It’s pre-recorded. All our cutscenes ever are in-engine, but we don’t play back cutscenes in real time for a long list of reasons.
A lot of commentators asked about the voice actress behind Katherine Marlowe. It turns out to be Rosalind Ayres, whose previous film works includes Titanic in addition to Gods and Monsters. She has also done game-related voice work for Age of Empires III and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
There was a character that looked and sounded just like Jason Statham in the new footage. When asked if the action star will be a part of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Arne Meyer commented:
No and no – we’ll be revealing more of all the folks who helped us play and shape many of the characters and supporting roles later on.
In one last tidbit regarding the new cut scene, Naughty Dog revealed that they have no plans to put up the video on the Playstation Store:
The 3D version of our announcement trailer is up on the PSN Store right now. We don’t have any plans to put the gameplay or the Katherine Marlowe cut scene up on the PSN Store. I would expect only to have full trailers or other major pieces of video content placed on the PSN Store.
Arne Meyer also mentioned that they have don't plan to add Playstation Move support to Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception at this time and that there have been no decisions so far regarding a collector’s edition for the upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive. Moreover, they have no plans to release Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves digitally on the Playstation Store. Naughty Dog is planning to unveil the multiplayer for the sequel in the future, however.
Finally, he also teased that we may be seeing snippet from part 2 of the “Behind the Scenes” video for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception at their PAX East 2011 panel:
We’re working on it – if you happen to be at PAX East for our Behind the Scenes panel, you may catch a snippet or more there!
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception will be released in North America on November 1st. You can check out the screens and artworks from the latest unveiling in the slideshow to the left of this article.
